About Me
Hiya!
I’ve loved books for as long as I can remember. I was the kind of kid who read far too widely (and far too young), including a deep devotion to the creepy Pretty Little Liars series when I was nine – which, in hindsight, explains a lot. Stories have always been how I make sense of the world: the scary parts, the beautiful parts, and everything in between.
During my undergrad, I found my forever niche in feminist adaptations of Greek mythology. I took every Greek myth and Greek history course I could, drawn to stories about power, resilience, and women reclaiming their narratives. These days, my reading life is a steady rotation: a Greek myth retelling at all times, a methodical journey through Agatha Christie’s magnificent Poirot mysteries, and the occasional completely random book as a palate cleanser.
Alongside reading, I’ve spent years writing – especially at the intersection of science, art, and wildlife. I’ve been deeply involved in wildlife conservation education, writing articles that translate research into something people can connect with emotionally. During my master’s degree, I published my first book: a collection of poems about overcoming adversity and finding joy in small, ordinary moments, called From Under the Lily Pad. My research also became visual art – one of my paintings was accepted into a gallery exhibition, and my poetry has lived beyond the page in local interactive theatre and their chapbook.
I’m both an author and a scientist. I’ve decided to stay somewhat anonymous here because book reviews, especially honest ones, require a bit of vulnerability. Which I like. This space is where I read closely, think deeply, and write without a mask – about stories, meaning, and the quiet details that make life richer.
